Job description
We provide exceptional home care services that support people to live independently and with dignity in their own homes. As our service continues to grow, we are looking for a dynamic and people-focused Community Engagement & Referrals Officer to help us build strong relationships across the local community and connect more people with high-quality care.
The Role
As the Community Engagement & Referrals Officer, you will be the face of our organisation within the community. Your focus will be on developing trusted relationships with professionals and families to increase high-quality referrals for our home care services.
You will work closely with:
- GPs and district nurses
- Hospital discharge teams
- Social workers and local authority commissioners
- Community groups and local networks
- Families seeking private care
This is not a traditional sales role. Success comes from building trust, educating partners, and becoming the go-to contact when care is needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships with healthcare professionals and community organisations
- Visit hospitals, clinics and community centres to promote our services
- Develop and maintain referral partnerships with health and social care professionals
- Attend networking events, coffee mornings, community events and expos
- Support local marketing initiatives such as talks, leaflets and social media engagement
- Follow up on enquiries and work closely with the Care Manager to ensure smooth client onboarding
- Maintain accurate records of activity, contacts and referral outcomes
What We're Looking For
- Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills
- Experience in sales, business development, community engagement or outreach
- Knowledge of the care or healthcare sector would be an advantage
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
