Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in a nursing home setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with senior care staff to implement care plans and assist residents with daily activities. Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
- Monitor and report any changes in residents' health or behaviour to the supervising staff.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by adhering to hygiene standards.
- Engage with residents through meaningful conversation and activities to promote their mental well-being.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective communication and continuity of care.
- Drive residents to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
- Participate in training sessions and meetings to enhance your skills and knowledge in senior care.
Experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare or caregiving role is advantageous but not essential; we welcome candidates who are eager to learn.
- Familiarity with IT systems used for documentation and communication within the care home environment is beneficial.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, particularly in supervising or mentoring junior staff members, will be considered an asset.
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality care and support to elderly individuals is crucial for this role.
