Kara Healthcare is seeking caring, dedicated, and experienced Senior Care Assistants to join our friendly team at our Wallsend care home (NE28 7HU). We are recruiting for both Day and Night shifts and are looking for individuals who are passionate about delivering outstanding person-centred care to older people.
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting residents, leading care teams on shift, and ensuring the highest standards of care, dignity, and respect are maintained at all times.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing high-quality personal care and support to residents.
- Supporting residents with daily living activities whilst promoting independence.
- Leading and guiding Care Assistants during your shift.
- Administering medication safely and accurately (where trained and competent).
- Completing care documentation and maintaining accurate records.
- Communicating effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
- Responding appropriately to residents' changing needs.
- Promoting a safe, happy, and welcoming environment for all residents.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working as a Senior Care Assistant or experienced Care Assistant within a residential, nursing, or dementia care setting.
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable).
- Medication administration experience is preferred.
- A caring, compassionate, and professional approach.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- A commitment to delivering exceptional resident care.
