Job description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to individuals in a care home setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting residents with their daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to follow care plans, and a genuine passion for helping others.
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support individuals with mobility and movement, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Help residents with meal preparation and feeding as necessary.
- Implement and follow care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to senior staff.
- Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their quality of life.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of living areas, promoting a safe environment.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other team members to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with residents and colleagues.
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to drive may be beneficial for roles that require travel between locations.
- Familiarity with IT systems for record-keeping and communication purposes is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with residents and their families.
