About the roleWe're looking for a reliable and caring Waking Night Support Worker to join our team in Shrewsbury (SY2), supporting three gentlemen aged 50s-70s with learning disabilities. One gentleman also has epilepsy, which is managed through medication.
The gentlemen enjoy watching films, spending time with family, attending day services and getting out for canal trips. All three have great personalities and a fantastic sense of humour. They communicate in different ways, with one gentleman using Makaton and the others communicating without words.
Your role will focus on providing reassurance, ensuring safety and supporting overnight needs. Support includes personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, hoisting and supporting two wheelchair users.
This is a lone-working waking night role, so confidence, good judgement and the ability to work independently are important.
