Job description

Are you an experienced registered nurse with a passion for clinical education and workforce development? Do you want to contribute to a hospice that strives to be a centre of excellence in specialist palliative and end of life care?

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Clinical Practice Facilitator to take a lead role in designing, delivering and embedding high quality clinical education within our hospice's clinical services. This is a key role in ensuring our clinical teams are equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver outstanding palliative and end of life care.

Working under the direction of the Head of Patient Safety & Learning, the Clinical Practice Facilitator will:

  • Lead on an evidence-based clinical education programme through collaborative working with key stakeholders and assist in identifying learning needs to target education interventions.
  • Support a range of learners through delivering and facilitating engaging teaching sessions and support our clinical leads and champions to deliver and facilitate their own sessions.
  • Support staff to development clinical competence and confidence by championing reflective practice, clinical supervision and learning from incidents into everyday clinical work.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified Registered Nurse and have extensive experience of caring for people at the end of life in a healthcare setting
  • Have experience in clinical education, supervision and assessment of staff and learners
  • Have strong communication, organisation and facilitation skills and be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team

This is a part-time position working 30 hours per week normally between office hours, Monday to Friday however there is an expectation that the successful candidate will undertake clinical shifts as required to maintain clinical credibility and competence.
