Teaching Assistant
Location: Grateley House School, Grateley, Andover, Hampshire SP11 8TA
Salary: £20,792.52
Hours: 37 hours/week - Permanent / Term time only
- Monday: 8:30am - 4:30pm
- Tuesday: 8:30am - 4:00pm
- Wednesday: 8:30am - 5:00pm
- Thursday: 8:30am - 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:30am - 4:00pm
About Us
Grateley House School is a successful 38-week specialist day school for young people aged 11-19 with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (typically high functioning and/or with associated disorders). Rated 'Good' by Ofsted, we provide a broad, balanced, and challenging curriculum, preparing students for successful lives beyond school.
We currently support 37 students, with planned growth over the next three years.
About the Role
This is a rewarding role suited to individuals motivated to support children and young people with special educational needs. It's also excellent experience for anyone considering a career in teaching. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting students in lessons and during non-structured time.
- Transporting and supporting students at college (driving required).
- Assisting teachers with preparation of work, resources, and equipment.
- Supporting students during on- and off-site activities.
- Completing paperwork to record observations and interventions.
What we're looking for:
- Previous classroom experience desirable but not essential - full training given.
- It is preferred that applicants hold a driving licence with a view to driving the school vehicles.
- Minimum of GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Commitment to personal learning and development.
- Enthusiastic, focused, and resilient attitude.

- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Identity and qualification checks.
