Maintenance Operative
Location: Hartwell, Northampton
Rate: £13.92 Per Hour Permanent | Full-time | 37.5 hours per weekPlease note: We may be unable to support applications where Home Office visa restrictions prevent candidates from meeting the full contractual hours or requirements of the role.

We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Operative, Ideally, for someone with good communication skills and a flexible attitude to their work. Must be organised and able to prioritise their work effectively. The successful candidate will be based at our Oakleaf Hartwell site, Northampton. However, you will need to be willing to travel between sites.
The role of Maintenance Operative, is to work as a member of our well-established facilities team, in maintaining and ensuring a high standard environment for our reputable nursing homes based within the Northamptonshire area.
About the Service - The Oakleaf Group
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established multi disciplinary team working within the field of acquired brain injury. The Oakleaf Group currently caters for a male client base specialising in neurological rehabilitation across various sites.
This role is at our Hilltop House site at Hartwell in Northampton, currently rated as Outstanding by CQC.
Working for this Leading Care Provider you will be instrumental in the provision of care and therefore it is desirable that you have a proven track record working in a similar position within the care sector.
The Role
You will:
- To carry out general maintenance tasks as instructed.
- To carry out internal and external paint and decorating
- To assist with cleaning or grounds tasks as instructed.
- To assist in operating and maintaining heating and hot water plant.
- To assist in maintaining the outside fabric of the building.
Who We're Looking For
We're seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
Requirements
- Previous experience of working in a maintenance role
- Good knowledge of relevant Health and Safety regulations
- Good Written and Verbal skills
- Intermediate IT skills in Microsoft word and use of email
- Physically fit and able lift light items of equipment and furniture
- Able to use and maintain hand and power tools
- Ability to be able to prioritise, respond and adopt a positive approach to work
- Able to carry out some cleaning as directed
- Able to work on and maintain external areas
- Experience in a Health/social care environment
- Formal qualification in a trade
- Formal health and safety training
