Learning Support Assistant

Cambian Beverley school- Beverley

£22,674.64 per annum

40 hours per week, Term Time Only

We are now recruiting for Learning Support Assistant to join our team. Supporting the teaching and senior staff, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team supporting the achievement and progress of learners.

The school:

Cambian Beverley School is an small independent, DfE-registered, 39 week, coeducational day school. Beverley School provides quality specialist education for up to 16 students, aged 9 - 18 years with on-going social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH).

The school specialises in educating students with SEMH needs through flexible learning programmes, delivered using high-quality teaching and pastoral care.

We are looking for Learning Support Assistant that are:

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establishing productive relationships with learners and everyone at the school.
  • Acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
  • Supporting learners consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs.
  • Working with the Tutor/Teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/work plans as appropriate.

Requirements for an Enhanced DBS and reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice. Whilst we endeavour to keep the recruitment process as short as possible due to the nature of these important checks it may extend the processing time.

We will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the search and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
