About the Service - High Road
High Road Service in Ilford is accessible by public transport, there is a bus stop 1-minute walking distance from the service and 2 local train stations, Ilford and Seven Kings. High Road has a front area car park and is surrounded by local shops, cafés and a shopping centre. We are providing individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling them to lead as ordinary life as they can achieve. High Road accommodates 7 service users who need support with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, wheelchair use, epilepsy, minimal challenging behaviours.
You will be working alone and as part of a team supporting people with various needs, such as Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, and Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
You will have a person-centred approach to supporting people with their day-to-day living in order to provide a caring, safe and effective service that is responsive to the needs of the people we support. This will include providing support with household tasks, meal planning and preparation, maintaining relationships with their family and friends and with accessing the community.
Service User Interests
The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:
Arts and crafts
Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
Holidays and short breaks
Walks in the local park and community
Cooking and baking to develop life skills
The Role
As a Deputy Manager, you'll support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home while ensuring the highest standards of care for residents. You'll lead, motivate, and inspire a dedicated team of care staff, and help create a warm, person-centred environment for residents and their families.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the Registered Manager in operational management of the home
Being 50% supernumerary to focus on leadership and oversight
Leading, coaching, and motivating a team of care staff
Ensuring care is delivered to the highest standards
Building strong relationships with families and professionals
Supporting compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and CQC standards
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a supervisory or management role in a care setting
NVQ Level 3 (or higher) in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
Strong leadership and communication skills
Compassionate, professional, and motivated approach to care
Knowledge of CQC regulations and standards

Requirements
• Willingness to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
• Drivers desirable but not essential
